Cake Care & Handling Instructions
To ensure your cake or cupcakes arrive safely and stay looking beautiful, please follow the care and transport guidelines below:
Transport Instructions
Keep your cake or cupcakes level during transport. Avoid placing them on uneven or slanted surfaces, as this may cause sliding or damage.
Always carry your cake from the bottom, never by the sides, to avoid collapsing or damaging the structure.
Use your car’s air conditioning, especially in warm weather, to help maintain the frosting and structural integrity.
Drive slowly and carefully, particularly around corners, over speed bumps, and when turning.
Storage Instructions
Buttercream & ganache cakes: Refrigerate once home. Remove 1–2 hours before serving to bring to room temperature.
Fondant & icing paper cakes: Do not refrigerate until ready to eat. Keep in a cool, dry area away from heat and sunlight
Best Before
Cakes and cupcakes are best enjoyed within 2 days of collection.
Once your cake has been cut, store any leftovers in the fridge and consume within 2 days. Allow to come to room temperature before serving for the best texture and taste.
Burnaway Cakes
Burnaway cakes are a specialist design and must be handled very carefully. Please read the following information before ordering or collecting:
1. Collection Time
Your agreed collection time is final.
If you arrive late, I cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake or the burnaway feature.
2. Storage
Burnaway cakes cannot go in the fridge. Moisture will cause the wafer element to warp, melt, or fail to burn properly.
These cakes should be kept at room temperature only until the burnaway is performed.
Burnaway cakes are designed to be used the same day as collection.
3. Weather Conditions
If the outside temperature is above 18°C, collection will need to be scheduled for 10am to avoid heat damage.
If the temperature is cooler, collection can be slightly later, but the burnaway must still take place on the same day.
4. Instructions on the Day
A QR code will be provided with your cake. This will link to a detailed step-by-step guide on how to handle the cake and safely perform the burnaway. Please ensure you read and follow these instructions carefully.
5. Liability
By placing an order for a Burnaway cake, you acknowledge and accept these conditions.
If instructions are not followed or if collection is late, I cannot accept liability for any issues that may occur.
